About Us

Welcome to the Asian Christian Fellowship

We are family friendly Church situated in the heart of Wolverhampton city centre, West Midlands. We believe that the Christian gospel (or good news) is about the God who saves all kinds of people by the forgiveness of sins as we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ and brings us into relationship with our Creator.

The congregation (members) are mostly from an Indian background of all ages, but we welcome people of all races, genders and social backgrounds. To make sure no-one is missed out, the services are conducted at the same time in both English and Punjabi.

The ACF is an independently run church and have no ties with larger organisations, but we enjoy friendly relationships with both local and national evangelical Churches, and often have visiting speakers/preachers from these fellowships.

Every Sunday you can join us for a mix of traditional and contemporary hymns in
English, Punjabi, Hindi & Urdu, along with a Bible based message that addresses
everyday truths right from the Word of God, which is essential for your spiritual growth.

You’ll find a well run and supervised Sunday school class for the little ones between 3-7 years old in the morning. While in the evening Sunday School classes are provided for children between the ages of 5-14 years old. So feel free to leave your children in safe hands while you enjoy the service.

During the week there are a range of individual meetings to cater for teenagers, women and men.

Statement of Faith

We believe in…
1.  The one true God who lives eternally in three persons-the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

2. The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.

3. The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God- fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.

4. The dignity of all people, made male and female in God’s image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgment.

5. The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ- born of the virgin Mary, truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.

6. The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.

7. The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruit of our resurrection: his ascension to the Father, and his reign and meditation as the only Savior of the world.

8. The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.

9. The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.

10. The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers- given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit’s gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.

11. Baptism and Lord’s Supper as given by Christ as visible signs of the Gospel. Baptism as a symbol of union with Christ and the Lord’s Supper to remember the Lord’s sacrifice for us. The blessings are received by Faith.

12. The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfill the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgment, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.

CROSS OF JESUS

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Our History

'and I also say to you that you are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it' - Matthew 16:18

The early years...

The Asian Christian Fellowship was initially founded by WEC (Worldwide Evangelisation for Christ) missionaries – Mr and Mrs Summers, who had a heart to reach out to the growing Asian population in the early 1970’s with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Previously they had worked in India, Pakistan and Tibet for a period of about 20 years.

Their arrival in Wolverhampton was an answer to prayer of a group of Christian people who were seeking someone to tell Asian people about Jesus in their own language.

To establish contact with the Asian community , bible bookshop was first opened in Pennfields, Wolverhampton, and later in Whitmore Reans. A lot of first contact was made with many Asians. Further home visits, bible studies and prayer saw many men and women turn to Jesus Christ.

In December 1974, the first Sunday evening service took place at the Darlington Street Methodist Church hall – where we have continued to meet since.

Over the many years the church grew, new believers went out and told others about the Good News they had received. Various activities were conducted by the church to reach people all over Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas.

Today, the Asian Christian Fellowship is an independent church that continues build upon the initial aim of seeing people come to believe in Jesus, but is no longer restricted to just the Asian community, as we believe the good news is meant for people of every race, age and social group.
